Welcome to Martsolf Design (MD) and thank you for stopping by. Everything you see on this website is designed and uniquely handcrafted by me. I grew up in New England but moved out west in search of sunshine, beautiful sandy beaches and to be (musically) the next James Taylor. So…that didn’t quite pan out as planned, instead continued making a living in the medical industry as a Surgical Tech. However, the artist in me never stopped. Instead of Hollywood, I found creativity in art with my hands...and a little glue..
Cathedral Candles was started a few years ago, because of my experience many decades ago when I was a child watching and helping my mother make hundreds of handmade candles and cut glass candleholders. As long as I can recall, she always had a side business, outside of her 9 to 5 job. I do hope you enjoy these unique handcrafted Cathedral Candles as much as I enjoyed creating them for you. I also use a great deal of repurposed glass, as I enjoy keeping non-degradable glass out of landfills! Please visit often, for these designs are very unique and are always one-of-a-kind.
Small Drawings In Small Frames are semi-geometric drawings created on re-purposed matte paper rescued from autoclave tests. The drawings are then mounted on foam core and framed in white 6x6 wooden frame. Suitable for small spaces on many walls!
Following that you will see the “Ancient Alphabet Series”…hand drawn on the same re-purposed matte paper rescued from autoclave tests, revealing how, quite fictitiously, our English Alphabet really came to pass!
MarkArt by MD, is a group of random art projects I have done and I am proud to say that most of MarkArt by MD arts revolve around repurposed products. I am a firm believer in taking care of our planet and making it a better place to live for myself and future generations. Every little bit helps..
